ALL NEW POLSTAR 2: 2023

Once a part of Volvo, now in sole ownership of Polestar, a Chinese motor sells only electric cars worldwide. This car is a combination of the style of sedan and hatchback, whose seating arrangement is raised like that of a crossover.

This model comes with a large battery pack, and has the option for one or two electric motors to support two-wheel or all-wheel drive. Overall it looks great, drives nicely, and has a superb interior.

Polestar 2 Exterior:

The Polestar is a sensational-looking machine, it has an evident design outside and has two simple but bold lines, including its Volvo-style Thor-hammer LED daytime running headlights and rear lights whose design is borrowed from Robocop. As the design of this car is a mix of the sedan, hatchback, and a crossover, that makes this car a little taller than the regular hatchbacks. It sits on Volvo’s Compact Modular Architecture (CMA) platform which is also used in Volvo XC40.

Polestar 2 Interior:

You may find the Interior of Polestar 2 very much similar to any Volvo’s. Once you enter the car, you find a giant infotainment screen of 11.2 inches, which is across the whole cabin and mounted high. The graphics of the screen are very crisp, it feels as if you are using an android phone, and the Polestar 2 is the first ever car to use Google OS, you can use the ‘Hey Google’ voice assistant, Spotify, Google Maps and can download anything from Google Play Store.

In front of the driver, you get a display that can be configured to a widescreen map along with speed and range data. If you buy an upgraded trim, you get a panoramic sunroof, Harman Kardon sound system, heated rear seats, wireless phone charger, Pixel LED lights, 360-degree camera, and Pilot Assist Cruise Control.

The Polestar 2 has brought wood, fabric, and plastic together in its interior. The fabric used here is Vegan for all the people who care more about the environment.

Battery, Performance, and Range of Polstar 2:

In Polestar 2 you get the battery and the performance according to what you spend, and on which trim out of three. If you buy the standard model, which is ‘Standard Range Single Motor’ 69 kWh of battery which is capable of 259 miles range and an electric motor of 228 bhp.

If you buy the ‘Long Range Single Motor’ trim you get a 78 kWh battery which provides 335 miles range on a full charge and gets a battery of 228 bhp same as that of the Standard trim. Buying ‘Long range Dual Motor Trim’ will get you electric motors on both front and rear axles developing 400 bhp making the car a very powerful one.

In the single motor trim, it reaches from 0-60 mph in 7.2 seconds, and in dual motor trim you can get 60 mph in just 4.1 seconds, it would be like the car can run in a flash. The car also comes with three levels of regenerative braking systems, making the car stop immediately without even touching the brakes. The charging of this car would take less than 40 minutes if you connect from a public 150 kW charger.

Ride and Handling:

The is no doubt that the polestar 2 is one of the fastest EVs, even though its heavy weight the electric motor in all 4 wheels provides 478 lb-ft of torque and moves from 0-60 mph in just 4.1 seconds. The Polestar provides us with many safety technologies like lane-keep assistance, a blind-spot monitoring system, autonomous emergency braking, semi-autonomous cruise control, cross-traffic alert, and a rear collision warning system.

The suspension here is adjustable to give you a comfortable ride, even on the bumpiest of the road, but for that, you need to get under the car to twist the dial on each damper of each corner of the car. There is one more flaw in the car, which is the brake pedal, it does not respond immediately most of the time making one pressing the brake pedal too hard to control the car.

Price of Polstar 2:

The Polestar 2 comes in three trims: ‘Standard Range Single Motor’, ‘Long Range Single Motor’ and ‘Long Range Dual Motor’. The Standard Range Single Motor trim comes for £41,900 which has a 69 kWh battery and 295 miles of range. If you buy Long Range Single Motor, you get a 78 kWh battery which has again 335 miles of range, you even get a panoramic sunroof, Harmon Kardon sound system, heated rear seats, and wireless phone charger, which you will get for £44,900.

Buying the highest trim Long Range Dual Trim will cost you £47,900 which has a dual motor on both front and rear wheel axle delivering a power of 400 lb hp of torque, Pixel LED Lights, Volvo’s 360-degree camera, and Pilot Assistant Cruise Control.

Is Polestar 2 a Good Car?

If you are interested in purchasing a luxury electric vehicle, one choice to consider is the 2023 Polestar 2. This sporty hatchback boasts a peppy electric motor that gives it rapid acceleration and a good driving range of around 270 miles on a full charge. It also looks great. There is plenty of room inside for a family of four along with all of their belongings, and the inside is elegant and well decorated.

In addition, the Polestar 2 is equipped with a user-friendly infotainment system and a multitude of standard safety measures. Having said that, its ride is on the firmer side, particularly for vehicles that include the performance pack as an optional extra. We advocate avoiding that update.

Should We Buy this car in 2023?

In the rapidly expanding market for electric vehicles, the well-rounded Polestar 2 is worthy of consideration; nevertheless, depending on your tastes – or your level of worry over range – you may find that one of its rivals is a better match for you. For example, the BMW i4 and the Tesla Model 3 are both capable of traveling more than 300 miles on a single charge. There is also an even more affordable version of the Kia EV6 and the Hyundai Ioniq 5 that can do the same thing.

Three Important Features:

1. The Polestar 2 is featured with a very powerful powertrain, having79 kWh battery and dual
motor on both the front and rear axles producing 400 lb hp of torque.
2. It is one of the fastest cars going from 0-60 mph in just 4.1 seconds.
3. Great comfort and interiors, with a good level of infotainment screen, with Google OS.
